Hello fellow readers,
As some of you may know, I moved to Australia (Cairns City) about two months ago. Cairns is incredibly different than my city of champions, San Francisco. Although I miss certain parts of home, one thing I absolutely love about Cairns is the tropical weather. I love waking up to sunshine every single morning, whereas back home, I woke up to fog and gloomy weather on a constant basis.
Cairns has been quite the adventure thus far. I must say, I have never seen such large creatures before. What do I mean by that? Well, the wild life is twice as big than they are in North America. No Seriously. Ants, beetles, cockroaches, etc. etc. etc. are MASSIVE! Even the bats are Ginormous. Ok, I’ve never seen bats before until I got here, but they are definitely not small in size like Hollywood portrays them to be. Besides mentioning my encounters with these lovely creatures, I am also enjoying and appreciating life away from home. For starters, I am finally learning how to cook! I have a great chef (my boyfriend) that has taught me a few things here and there. I am also experiencing what the real world is like i.e finding jobs, handling finances, and simply learning to adjust to a new culture. None of these have been easy, but I am taking all of these obstacles with a positive light. I never left home throughout my entire 24 years, and now i am on the opposite side of the world having a fresh new start at life.
So, here are some pictures that will help you visualize my journey thus far:

Someone caught a 250lb shark!

Willis and I spent a lovely sunday afternoon in Port Douglas (40 minutes away from Cairns).

Port Douglas again.

The poolside from our Apartment Complex.

As I walk to the bus stop, this is the view I see..never will I get this in SF.

It’s wet season in Cairns. Told ya, tropical weather!

Dinner I made. Ok, chicken was a bit dry, but it’s a start….right?!

Willis went fishing at 6am, and look at the gorgeous view!
That is all I have for now, until next time.
